Prerequisites

• OpenClaw installed and running
• A CommonStack API key (get one at commonstack.ai)

Quick Start

Step 1: Install the plugin

openclaw plugins install openclaw-commonstack

Step 2: Restart the gateway

openclaw gateway restart

Step 3: Configure via onboard (recommended)

openclaw onboard

Select CommonStack from the provider list, then enter your API key when prompted.

Or configure manually

# Set API key via environment variable
export COMMONSTACK_API_KEY="your-api-key"

# Set CommonStack as default model provider
openclaw config set agents.defaults.model commonstack/openai/gpt-4o-mini

Usage

Send a message with the default model

openclaw message send "Hello, how are you?"

Use a specific model

# OpenAI
openclaw message send --model commonstack/openai/gpt-4.1 "Explain quantum computing"

# Anthropic
openclaw message send --model commonstack/anthropic/claude-sonnet-4-6 "Write a haiku"

# Google
openclaw message send --model commonstack/google/gemini-2.5-flash "Summarize this article"
