2. Proportion follows canonical rules (tālamāna) — deviation from these proportions signals a different tradition, not creative freedom
3. Dynamic stillness: the figure appears to move while remaining perfectly balanced — tribhaṅga (triple-bend) creates life without instability
4. Multiplicity serves narrative compression — each additional arm carries a specific attribute, not decorative repetition
5. Surface finish is devotional labor — the smoothness of bronze or polish of stone is itself an offering
