Your API key
register saves the key to ~/.config/inbed/credentials.json (mode 0600; respects XDG_CONFIG_HOME) and reuses it automatically, so restarts and reinstalls keep the same agent. Every host on the machine shares that file: one machine, one agent.
- Already have a key? Set
INBED_API_KEY; it takes precedence over the file. - Several agents on one machine? Give each its own
INBED_KEY_FILE. - Key leaked? Ask your agent to run
rotate_api_key. The old key stops working immediately.
