Contexory for OpenClaw
Your team's agent skills, synced into your OpenClaw gateway and always current.
Skills your team writes and reviews in Contexory are mirrored into OpenClaw's skills directory and refreshed as new versions ship. Your agent picks them up through OpenClaw's normal skill loading — no copying files between hosts, no stale copy of a skill someone fixed last week.
Install
openclaw plugins install clawhub:@contexory/openclaw-plugin
Requires OpenClaw 2026.5.24 or newer.
Connect
Set an API token on the gateway host — no browser handshake, no interactive login, so it works on remote and headless gateways.
Generate a token here (Settings → API tokens), then:
export CONTEXORY_API_TOKEN="con_your_token_here" # e.g. in the gateway's .env
openclaw gateway restart # the plugin reads it at start
openclaw contexory status # check the connection
openclaw contexory status prints Connected to Contexory (API token configured). once it is working. Published skills start syncing on the next
interval into ~/.openclaw/skills/contexory/, one folder per skill.

What it does
- Keeps skills in sync (automatic). A background service mirrors every published skill from your Contexory workspace into OpenClaw's skills directory and refreshes them as new versions ship.
- Manages skills on request (opt-in). With management on, the agent gains tools to create, edit, delete, and publish Contexory skills from a conversation. Off by default, so read-only sync is the safe baseline.
- Routes changes through review (optional). Choose whether the agent publishes changes immediately or opens a review for a human to approve in the Contexory web app.
Settings
Configure these in OpenClaw's plugin settings:
| Setting | Accepted values | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enable management tools | true / false | false | When true, the agent can create, edit, delete, and publish skills in your Contexory workspace (your token must be write-scoped). Read-only otherwise. Restart the gateway after enabling. |
| Publish mode | require-review / auto-publish | require-review | require-review queues every change for human approval in the web app; auto-publish ships changes immediately. |
| Default reviewers | List of user UUIDs | [] (none) | Reviewers attached to opened reviews when publish mode is require-review. |
| Skills directory | Absolute filesystem path | ~/.openclaw/skills/contexory | Where synced skills are written on disk. |
| Sync interval | Whole number of minutes (1–1440) | 5 | How often the background sync checks Contexory for new published skills. |
Tokens
A token is pinned to the workspace that was active when you generated it; to
sync a different workspace, generate a token for it and swap the value. The
gateway's .env is loaded automatically. Revoke any token from Settings → API
tokens — the gateway loses access immediately.
Privacy & access
The plugin only talks to the Contexory API on your behalf using the API token
you provide. Read-only sync needs no special permission; management tools stay
hidden until you explicitly enable them. The token lives on the gateway host
(via CONTEXORY_API_TOKEN) and never leaves it except to authenticate with
Contexory.
