Suspicious
high confidencePurpose & Capability
The skill is named and described as a database client that connects to major engines, but the provided code implements only a local file-based logging utility that saves timestamped entries under ~/.local/share/dbeaver and has no database drivers, network calls, or DB connection logic. This is a clear mismatch between claimed purpose and actual capability.
Instruction Scope
SKILL.md instructs the agent to run the included bash script and describes many database-related use cases (querying, browsing schemas, exporting results) that are not supported by the script. The script is limited to writing/reading .log files in its data directory and searching them; it does not read other system files or request credentials, but the documentation is misleading and grants broad, vague use-cases that the implementation does not perform.
Install Mechanism
There is no install spec (instruction-only invocation + included script). Nothing is downloaded or written outside the single bundled script and the created data directory under the user's home. This is low-risk from an install/execution mechanism perspective.
Credentials
The skill declares no required environment variables, no credentials, and the script does not access environment variables beyond HOME via $HOME. There are no requests for unrelated secrets or external service credentials.
Persistence & Privilege
The skill does not request always:true, does not modify other skills or system-wide configs, and only creates and writes to ~/.local/share/dbeaver. Its persistence and privilege footprint is minimal and local.
What to consider before installing
This package is suspicious because its name/description promise a DB client but the code is just a local logging utility. If you expected a tool that connects to databases, do NOT install or rely on this — it will not provide DB connectivity. The script itself appears harmless: it only writes and reads log files under ~/.local/share/dbeaver and has no network calls or credential access. Before using it: (1) review the script contents yourself (it will create files in your home directory), (2) avoid logging sensitive credentials into it (anything you store in the logs will be written to disk), and (3) prefer an established, documented database client if you need real DB functionality. If the mismatch is intentional, ask the author for clarification or a corrected package that actually provides DB connectivity.Like a lobster shell, security has layers — review code before you run it.

Dbeaver
Dbeaver v2.0.0 — a utility toolkit for running tasks, checking results, converting data, analyzing output, generating content, and more from the command line.
Commands
Run via: bash scripts/script.sh <command> [args]
| Command | Description |
|---|---|
run <input> | Execute a task or log a run entry. Without args, shows recent runs. |
check <input> | Perform or log a check — validation, verification, or health probe. |
convert <input> | Record a data conversion or transformation operation. |
analyze <input> | Log analysis results — insights, findings, or diagnostic output. |
generate <input> | Record generated content — reports, configs, templates. |
preview <input> | Log a preview action — quick look at data or output before committing. |
batch <input> | Record batch operations — bulk processing or multi-item tasks. |
compare <input> | Log comparison results between datasets, schemas, or configs. |
export <input> | Record export operations or data transfer logs. |
config <input> | Log configuration changes or settings updates. |
status <input> | Record status updates or system check-ins. |
report <input> | Create or view report entries for summaries and analysis. |
stats | Show summary statistics across all entry types. |
export <fmt> | Export all data in json, csv, or txt format. |
search <term> | Search across all log files for a keyword. |
recent | Show the 20 most recent activity entries from the history log. |
status | Health check — version, data directory, entry count, disk usage. |
help | Show the built-in help message with all available commands. |
version | Print the current version (dbeaver v2.0.0). |
Each data command works in two modes:
- With arguments: saves the input with a timestamp to its dedicated log file.
- Without arguments: displays the 20 most recent entries from that log.
Data Storage
All data is stored locally in ~/.local/share/dbeaver/:
- Each command has its own log file (e.g.,
run.log,check.log,convert.log) - Entries are saved in
timestamp|valueformat - A unified
history.logrecords all activity across commands - Export files are written to the same directory
Requirements
- Bash (standard system shell)
- No external dependencies — uses only coreutils (
date,wc,du,grep,tail,cat)
When to Use
- When you need to log database operations and task runs from the terminal
- To track data conversions and transformations
- For analyzing and comparing datasets or schemas
- To generate and preview reports before finalizing
- When managing batch operations across multiple items
- To record configuration changes for audit trails
- For lightweight, file-based operations logging and tracking
