openclaw skills install @charlie12520/headcount-labsUse when the user asks to find jobs, search current job postings, count how many jobs match a role/company/place, get salary ranges, or analyze the job market (top employers, top metros, remote vs on-site split, pay transparency). Covers job search, hiring data, labor-market questions, and "who is hiring for X". Not for applying to jobs or writing resumes.
openclaw skills install @charlie12520/headcount-labsSearch 8.4 million current job postings from 200,000+ job boards and employer careers pages, refreshed daily, through the Headcount Labs MCP server. All tools are read-only and work without an account or API key.
Register the public MCP server with OpenClaw:
openclaw mcp set headcountlabs '{"url":"https://api.headcountlabs.com/mcp/public","transport":"streamable-http"}'
openclaw mcp list
If the tools don't appear, restart the gateway (openclaw gateway restart)
and start a new session. Verify with: "How many jobs are there for nurses?"
No secrets are needed. The public endpoint has fair-use limits: 50 jobs per page, 250 jobs per search.
| Tool | Use it for |
|---|---|
search_jobs | Search postings by keyword, title, company, place, pay, date, work arrangement and more |
get_job | Full details / full description text for one job (by job_id from search results) |
count_jobs | How many jobs match a filter, without listing them |
list_fields | The exact filter and field names search_jobs accepts — call this before guessing a filter |
market_lookup | A single market figure (e.g. pay transparency rate, posting age) |
market_breakdown | Rank a dimension: top employers, top metros, jobs by state, work-arrangement split |
salary_range | The salary range for a role (optionally in a place) |
market_dimensions | Which dimensions market_breakdown can rank |
search_docs | Questions about Headcount Labs itself: filters, limits, setup, errors |
Do NOT use for: applying to jobs, submitting resumes, or contacting employers — this is a search and market-data tool only.
count_jobs before listing anything.list_fields to get exact filter names,
then build the search_jobs filters from it.search_jobs defaults to
short snippets at up to 50 jobs per page. Call get_job on the few jobs
the user actually wants in full — don't pull full descriptions for a
whole page (full text is capped at 10 per page).market_breakdown / market_lookup, not to paging
through search_jobs.count_is_estimate is true, say "about X"
and don't present the number as exact.Everything above is free with no account. Users who need higher limits can create a free Headcount Labs account — the first 100,000 records every month are free, then $0.01 per 1,000 records — and switch the server URL to the OAuth endpoint:
openclaw mcp set headcountlabs '{"url":"https://api.headcountlabs.com/mcp","transport":"streamable-http"}'
openclaw mcp login headcountlabs
This skill only makes outbound HTTPS requests to api.headcountlabs.com.
It does not read local files, store credentials, or contact any other
domain. All tools are read-only (readOnlyHint: true).
