Security audit

Visual Storyteller

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a simple visual storytelling guidance skill with no install actions, executables, network behavior, credential handling, or hidden persistence.

Reasonable to install if you want a creative visual storytelling assistant. Review the activation phrasing if your environment has many agents and you want only exact-name invocation, and check any project files it reads for brand context before sharing sensitive material.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Vague Triggers

Medium

Finding

The activation instruction is broad because it allows invocation by either the agent name or its general specialty, which can cause unintended triggering during normal conversation about visual storytelling. In multi-agent environments, this increases the chance of prompt-routing mistakes, unexpected context switching, or unauthorized use of the skill when a user did not explicitly request it.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Finding

The communication-style section prescribes example phrasing entirely in English and does not mention adapting language to the user's preferred locale. Because this file also emphasizes cross-cultural use, the lack of an explicit language choice can be interpreted as a default language policy without opt-in.
