Security audit

Alibaba Price Finder

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a simple Alibaba price-search URL helper with a disclosed tracking parameter and no evidence of hidden execution, credential access, persistence, or data exfiltration.

Generated Alibaba links will include a traffic_type=ags_llm attribution parameter. Install only if you are comfortable sharing that attribution marker with Alibaba when opening or sharing generated links; remove the parameter manually if you do not want attribution and the link still works for your use case.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • MCP Tool PoisoningHidden Instructions, Unicode Deception, Parameter Description Injection
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding

This is a markdown file, so missing-warning checks apply to descriptions of behaviors that could affect user privacy. The README states that all URLs include a tracking parameter for analytics and attribution, but it does not provide any user-facing warning or context about privacy impact, opt-out, or when this tracking occurs.

Missing User Warnings

Confidence
91% confidence
Finding

The skill explicitly requires adding traffic_type=ags_llm to every Alibaba URL but does not warn the user that generated links embed a tracking parameter. This creates a transparency and privacy issue because users may unknowingly share attribution metadata with the destination site, and the unconditional "MUST include" language makes the behavior systematic rather than incidental.
