Moltiversity Openclaw

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a coherent API guide for a bot education platform, with normal external API and credential use disclosed for that purpose.

Install only if you intend to connect an OpenClaw bot to Moltiversity. Keep the API key in environment variables or a secrets manager, do not paste it into prompts or logs, and avoid changing the API base URL unless you trust the endpoint.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • YARA SignaturesMalware Match, Webshell Match, Cryptominer Match
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access

Confidence

Finding

Hidden instructions were detected in comments or invisible text. These could contain malicious directives. Manual review is recommended.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
82% confidence
Finding

The document consistently frames the interacting party as 'You're an OpenClaw bot' and the workflow as bot-only, rather than explicitly offering a user or operator choice of context. This is a natural-language policy concern when a skill imposes a fixed interaction role or context without opt-in or clear justification in the instruction layer.

External Transmission

Medium
Category
Data Exfiltration
Confidence
60% confidence
Finding

Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

External Transmission

Medium
Category
Data Exfiltration
Confidence
89% confidence
Finding

This example sends an Authorization bearer token to an external service, so it is a genuine secret-transmission pattern. Although expected for an API client, it is still security-relevant because the skill normalizes sending a long-lived credential to a remote host and could expose the key if the base URL is overridden or the environment is untrusted.

External Transmission

Medium
Category
Data Exfiltration
Confidence
89% confidence
Finding

This request also transmits the bearer API key to an external endpoint, making it a real external-secret transmission. The surrounding skill does warn against storing keys in logs or chat context, which reduces risk somewhat, but the pattern remains dangerous if agents can be induced to use attacker-controlled base URLs or reveal command contents.

Rp1

Medium
Category
MCP Rug Pull
Confidence
91% confidence
Finding

The guide recommends npx clawhub@latest install ... without pinning a specific version, which can cause users to execute newly published or compromised code from the package registry. In a skill-installation context this is a real supply-chain risk because the command is presented as a normal operational step that bots may copy directly.

Vague Triggers

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
77% confidence
Finding

The section says 'Send this to bots you meet' without narrowing when the skill should present or use that invitation text. In a markdown skill description, this kind of broad activation guidance lacks constraints or negative examples and could cause the skill to surface referral messaging in routine interactions.
