macOS Automator Services

Security checks across malware telemetry and agentic risk

Overview

This is a local macOS Automator services guide with user-directed commands, but users should inspect any workflow bundles separately because they are not included in the reviewed artifact.

Install only on macOS, and inspect any .workflow bundles you obtain before copying them into ~/Library/Services/. Test conversions, renames, extraction, and deletion commands on disposable files first, and back up existing Automator services before using the uninstall or sync examples.

Finding
The uninstall section provides permanent deletion commands for workflow bundles without any warning, confirmation step, or backup guidance. While scoped to the user's Services directory rather than the whole system, this still increases the chance of accidental destructive action and data loss of installed automations.
