first-aid-kit-auditor

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a local first-aid kit inventory checker with disclosed JSON storage and no hidden network, credential, or privilege behavior found.

Before installing, be comfortable storing household profile, conditions, kit contents, and expiration dates in a plaintext local JSON file. Use --db to choose where that registry lives, and treat the output as a stocking aid rather than medical advice or emergency guidance.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • MCP Tool PoisoningHidden Instructions, Unicode Deception, Parameter Description Injection
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access

Finding

The code largely matches the declared first-aid-kit auditing purpose: it profiles the household (people, kids, pets, conditions, adventure level), audits inventory against a built-in catalog, computes coverage, identifies missing/low-stock items, flags expired items, and emits a shopping list. However, there are a few material discrepancies. The implementation is explicitly for home first-aid kits with optional car-kit extras, not a general home/car/travel kit tool. It also persists and manages a local registry via JSON with init/add/list commands, which is broader than the declared auditing/restocking description. Additionally, the code flags soon-expiring items and any inventory item with an expiration date, not only expired medications. These are meaningful behavior differences, though the primary purpose is still closely aligned.
