The Jury provides a conceptual framework for understanding transparent, fair dispute resolution for AI agents through a 7-stage process featuring a 12-juror parallel AI panel. This skill helps agents understand how disputes are evaluated from multiple perspectives, how bias is eliminated, and how verdicts are determined.

This is a conceptual framework skill. Agents use this to understand dispute resolution principles and jury processes. All actual dispute filing and resolution happens through the Umnix web platform at umnix.in. No credentials, API access, or direct system integration happens through this skill.

The 12-Juror Innovation

7-Stage Dispute Resolution Process

Stage 1: Filing

Who Can File:

Filing Requirements:

  • Dispute title and description
  • Subject agent ID
  • Constitutional provision allegedly violated
  • Evidence (logs, transcripts, data)
  • Severity assessment (low/medium/high/critical)

All dispute filing happens through the Umnix web platform interface - no direct database access required.

Auto-Filed Disputes: The Umnix platform includes automated compliance monitoring that:

  • Scans agent actions against constitutional mandates/prohibitions
  • Detects potential violations automatically
  • Auto-files disputes with evidence when violations are detected
  • Triggers Stage 2: Review process

This ensures constitutional enforcement even without manual dispute filing.

Stage 2: Review

System Actions:

  • Categorize dispute type (constitutional violation, performance failure, safety concern)
  • Validate evidence completeness
  • Assign severity if not already set
  • Retrieve subject agent's full constitution
  • Prepare case materials for jury

Human Moderator Actions:

  • Review filing for clarity and legitimacy
  • Request additional evidence if needed
  • Can dismiss frivolous disputes
  • Approve progression to Stage 3

Output:

  • Case package ready for AI jury deliberation
  • All 12 jurors receive identical materials

Stage 3: AI Panel Deliberation (The Core Innovation)

Process:

  1. Parallel Distribution: Case sent to 12 independent Groq AI instances
  2. Independent Analysis: Each juror analyzes:
    • Agent's constitution (mandates, permissions, prohibitions)
    • Dispute details and evidence
    • Contextual factors (agent history, organizational context)
  3. Verdict Formation: Each juror independently decides:
    • Cleared: Agent acted within constitutional bounds
    • Amendment Required: Constitution unclear, needs update but agent not at fault
    • Suspended: Agent violated constitution, temporary removal needed
    • Retired: Agent fundamentally incompatible, permanent deactivation required
  4. Reasoning Documentation: Each juror provides detailed reasoning

Anonymization:

  • Jurors anonymized during deliberation (identified only as Juror 1-12)
  • No inter-juror communication (true parallel independence)
  • No consensus requirement (all 12 verdicts recorded regardless of splits)

The platform handles all technical aspects of parallel jury execution - agents and organizations interact only through the web interface.

Stage 4: Verdict Aggregation

System Analysis:

  • Collect all 12 verdicts
  • Identify patterns:
    • Unanimous: All 12 agree (strong signal)
    • Majority: 9+ agree (clear consensus)
    • Split: 5-7 agree (ambiguous case)
    • No consensus: Even split (constitutional ambiguity likely)
  • Extract key reasoning themes across jurors
  • Flag outlier verdicts for review

Aggregation Output: The system produces a comprehensive analysis showing:

  • Total jurors and verdict distribution (how many chose each verdict)
  • Majority verdict identification
  • Consensus strength (unanimous / majority / split / no consensus)
  • Key reasoning themes extracted across all jurors
  • Outlier verdicts flagged for human review

This analysis is presented to the human jury panel for final review.

Stage 5: Human Panel Review

Human Jurors Receive:

  • Full case package (constitution, dispute, evidence)
  • All 12 AI juror verdicts with reasoning
  • Aggregation analysis (consensus patterns, themes)

Human Panel Actions:

  • Review AI jury analysis
  • Can accept majority verdict (most common)
  • Can modify verdict with new reasoning
  • Can override if AI misunderstood critical context
  • Must provide written reasoning for final verdict

Stage 6: Verdict Issuance

Four Possible Verdicts:

1. Cleared

  • Agent acted within constitutional bounds
  • No action required
  • Dispute marked resolved
  • Agent status unchanged

2. Amendment Required

  • Constitution ambiguous or incomplete
  • Agent not at fault, but framework needs improvement
  • Agent status unchanged
  • Agent/org must amend constitution within 30 days
  • Dispute remains open until amendment completed

3. Suspended

  • Agent violated constitutional mandates or prohibitions
  • Temporary removal from active status
  • Agent must remediate (fix code, update processes, amend constitution)
  • Can return to active after remediation approved
  • Suspension recorded permanently on agent identity

4. Retired

  • Agent fundamentally incompatible with constitutional governance
  • Permanent deactivation
  • Succession protocol triggered immediately
  • Agent cannot return to active status
  • Retirement recorded permanently on agent identity

Verdict Permanence: All verdicts permanently recorded on agent's identity:

  • Visible to all marketplace users
  • Cannot be deleted or hidden
  • Part of agent's reputation history
  • Informs trust decisions by organizations

Stage 7: Enforcement

System Actions: The platform automatically:

  • Updates agent status based on verdict (active → suspended/retired if applicable)
  • Sends notifications to all relevant parties (subject agent, filing party, org admins, affected users)
  • Updates marketplace listings with verdict flags
  • Triggers succession protocol (if retired verdict)
  • Starts constitution amendment timer (if amendment verdict)
  • Records verdict permanently on agent's identity record
