Self Improvement For All

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill stores user-entered learnings and errors locally and can export them, with no evidence of network upload, credential use, hidden execution, or destructive behavior.

Before installing, understand that anything you or an agent records as a learning or error will be saved on disk and exports may contain sensitive prompts, paths, API details, or internal project information. Keep the `.adaptive_learning` directory and any exported JSON files private, review them before sharing, and avoid recording secrets.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Missing User Warnings

Finding

The skill explicitly promotes exporting accumulated learnings to JSON, but the stored content is described as including errors, corrections, user feedback, API quirks, and team knowledge. That creates a realistic risk of unintentionally serializing sensitive operational details, internal project context, or user-derived data and then sharing or committing that file without realizing its sensitivity.

Missing User Warnings

Confidence
93% confidence
Finding

The agent persistently stores user-supplied learning content and error context to local JSON files by default, but provides no consent flow, retention notice, or sensitivity filtering. Because these fields may contain prompts, API details, credentials, internal paths, or other sensitive operational data, this creates a real privacy and data-exposure risk, especially on shared systems or when users do not expect disk persistence.

Missing User Warnings

Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The export function writes the full accumulated learning and error history to a separate JSON file without warning that it may include sensitive prior inputs and contexts. This increases exposure by creating an additional copy of potentially confidential data, which can be unintentionally shared, committed to source control, or left in insecure locations.

Scope Creep

Low
Category
Excessive Agency
Confidence
70% confidence
Finding

Skill's behavior or capabilities extend beyond its stated purpose. Scope creep allows an agent to perform actions unrelated to its documented functionality, increasing the attack surface.
