Cleanup Workflows

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This HubSpot cleanup skill is clearly about auditing and removing unused workflows, with disclosed token use and deletion cautions.

Before installing, confirm the HubSpot token is scoped only to the needed workflow read/manage permissions and use this only with owner approval, a documented inventory, and a backup or screenshot of workflow logic before deleting anything.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

The skill gives instructions for deleting HubSpot workflows and notes later that deleted workflows cannot be restored, but it does not present a prominent upfront warning or require explicit confirmation before destructive action. In a production CRM/marketing automation environment, deleting the wrong workflow can permanently remove business logic, disrupt lead routing or customer communications, and cause operational outages.
