expert-mode

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill is openly meant to manage expert modes, but it can persist remotely fetched expert definitions into agent memory using broad fallback sources and weak validation.

Install only if you are comfortable with an expert-mode skill that can fetch persona definitions from external repositories and persist them into agent memory. Review every proposed MEMORY.md change carefully, avoid enabling automatic sync unless you trust the sources, and prefer pinned or manually reviewed expert lists over mirror or search-based updates.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
96% confidence
Finding

The example trigger phrase '学习专家模式' is ambiguous and likely to collide with ordinary conversational requests about learning or discussing expert mode, causing unintended skill execution. In this skill, unintended execution is more risky because it can initiate repository access, expert-library synchronization logic, and persona activation behaviors based on loosely matched user text.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
94% confidence
Finding

The trigger scope is overly broad: phrases like updating, syncing, or activating experts are common natural-language requests and can cause the skill to auto-activate in contexts where the user did not intend repository fetching, memory updates, or persona switching. Even though the skill adds confirmation before writes, accidental activation can still lead to unnecessary network access, confusing mode changes, or exposure to prompt-injection content from external sources.

Skill Enumeration

Category
Agent Snooping
Confidence
80% confidence
Finding

Skill enumerates or reads other installed skills. Access to other skills' SKILL.md files or the skills directory reveals prompt instructions, capabilities, and secrets that should be invisible to peer skills.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
82% confidence
Finding

The file presents the skill name, description, safety notes, and all usage examples entirely in Chinese, with no indication that users may interact in other languages or choose their preferred locale. Under the policy, a skill should not impose a language or locale without opt-in unless the regional constraint is explicitly documented and justified.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
88% confidence
Finding

The example trigger phrases are broad enough that normal user requests like '学习专家模式' or '激活前端开发者' could unintentionally invoke this skill and change agent behavior or initiate external content workflows. In a skill that manages expert activation and repository updates, accidental activation increases the chance of context switching, unintended fetching, or prompting the user toward persistence actions.
