rbw-bitwarden

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a coherent Bitwarden CLI reference skill; it handles sensitive password-manager operations, but the access is disclosed and aligned with its stated purpose.

Install only if you intend to let Codex help operate rbw against your Bitwarden vault. Review commands before running them, especially get, --raw, --clipboard, add, edit, remove, sync, SSH agent setup, and purge, because they can expose secrets, change vault items, or alter local session state.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Missing User Warnings

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
84% confidence
Finding

The markdown lists rbw purge with a brief note to remove the local database and log out, but it does not explicitly warn that this is a destructive local-data operation that may require re-login and re-sync afterward. For a password-manager skill, operations affecting vault state and local cached data should be clearly disclosed to avoid accidental disruption.
