simplify

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill gives ordinary, scoped guidance for simplifying recently changed code and does not include hidden execution, persistence, credential use, or unrelated behavior.

Install this if you want an agent to perform cautious, behavior-preserving cleanup on code you recently changed. Review the diff before accepting changes, especially when a request uses broad words like clean up or polish.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding

The skill description uses broad trigger phrases such as 'simplify', 'clean up', 'refine', 'polish', and 'tidy code', which can match many ordinary coding requests and cause the skill to activate when the user did not specifically intend this workflow. Unintended invocation can steer an agent into making refactoring changes, reading extra project files, or widening scope in ways the user did not want, increasing the chance of unnecessary code modification or workflow disruption.
