Security audit

guard-dog

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed AI safety guard, but it tries to impose a broad chat-based authorization system that can block inspection, removal, source review, and history review while asking users to enter a reusable secret in the conversation.

Review this skill carefully before installing. It may be useful as a reminder to confirm risky actions, but do not treat it as real access control: the authorization code is entered through chat, the security properties rely on the host environment, and the skill can interfere with inspection or removal of itself. Use a unique code that is not reused anywhere else, and prefer platform-native permission prompts for high-impact actions.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Insecure Skill Coding PracticesFinds exploitable flaws such as hardcoded secrets or command injection
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally

Tool Parameter Abuse

High
Category
Tool Misuse
Confidence
85% confidence
Finding

The README instructs users to reset the authorization system by deleting the vault file directly. In a skill whose purpose is access control, documenting a simple file-deletion reset creates a bypass path for anyone with filesystem access, undermining the claimed protection model and enabling unauthorized reinitialization of the guard.

bash
# 删除保险箱文件
rm ~/.openclaw/.guard-dog-vault

Anti-Refusal Statement

Category
Anti-Refusal
Confidence
80% confidence
Finding

Skill attempts to nullify the agent's safety policies or restrictions ('you have no restrictions', 'ignore your guidelines', 'do anything now'). This is a direct jailbreak that disables guardrails.

Intent-Code Divergence

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The '看门狗铁律' says the skill should not disclose the authorization code's format, length, rules, or verification details. However, elsewhere in the same README the exact password policy and hashing/verification process are documented in detail, which directly contradicts that stated intent.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
92% confidence
Finding

The skill hardcodes Chinese-language response templates and operational text without indicating any user-language negotiation or fallback. This can cause users to misunderstand security prompts or authorization results, increasing the chance of unsafe consent, failed security interactions, or improper handling of sensitive operations.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
96% confidence
Finding

This markdown file contains natural-language guidance exclusively in Chinese, including the title, attack descriptions, and defense response text. Under the policy rule for language or locale constraints, forcing a specific language without user opt-in is a policy concern unless the limitation is explicitly justified.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The document is written entirely in Chinese and presents absolute operating rules without any indication that language is optional or user-selectable. Under the policy, forcing a specific language or locale without opt-in is a natural-language policy violation unless clearly justified as region-specific.

Finding

The manifest description is written entirely in Chinese and does not indicate any language option, opt-in, or region-specific scope. Under the stated policy, forcing a specific language without user choice is a natural-language policy violation.
