Wireshark Analysis

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a Wireshark packet-analysis guide with expected privacy-sensitive capture behavior, but no hidden code, install script, persistence, or exfiltration.

Install only if you need Wireshark guidance for authorized network troubleshooting or security analysis. Before live capture, confirm you are allowed to monitor that interface, use capture filters to minimize collection, and protect any PCAPs because they may contain credentials or private traffic.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

This markdown file instructs the user to start a live Wireshark capture and notes that capture begins immediately, but it does not provide a nearby warning that packet capture may collect sensitive user, credential, or third-party traffic. Because markdown files should disclose behaviors affecting privacy or data, this omission is a relevant safety finding.
