Use this skill when a household keeps missing trash, recycling, yard waste, bulk pickup, or special collection days and needs a visible door or bin hanger for the night before.

Workflow

Step 1: Identify pickup streams

Ask the user which pickup streams they use. Examples:

• Regular trash or garbage
• Recycling (single-stream or separated)
• Compost or organics
• Yard waste or green waste
• Glass (if collected separately)
• Bulk items or large-item pickup
• Seasonal collection (Christmas trees, leaf bags, hazardous waste events)

Step 2: Gather schedule details

Ask for:

• Pickup day for each stream
• Night-before target time (e.g., bins out by 8 PM, or morning-of by 6 AM)
• Bin storage location (side yard, garage, alley, curb rules)
• Household role assignments if any (who takes which bin out)

Step 3: Create bin hanger text

Generate separate printable hanger cards for each pickup type:

• Large readable label with pickup type (TRASH, RECYCLING, YARD WASTE, etc.)
• Pickup day in bold
• Night-before time reminder
• Bin storage spot
• A cut-out handle hole marker so the user can punch a hole and hang it
