Purpose & Capability
Name/description (Shopify storefront conversion audit) match the SKILL.md behavior: it asks for public store and product URLs and provides page-by-page copy/UX/trust/performance guidance. No credentials, binaries, or unrelated resources are requested.
Instruction Scope
Instructions stay within the domain of inspecting public pages, copy, layout and checkout UX. The skill explicitly states it does NOT run automated Lighthouse/Core Web Vitals tests and will base load-time assessments on the provided URLs/descriptions — this is a limitation that can lead to approximate or inaccurate performance advice and should be verified with real measurements.
Install Mechanism
No install spec or code files are present; this is an instruction-only skill so nothing will be written to disk or downloaded during install.
Credentials
The skill requires only public URLs and optional baseline conversion metrics supplied by the user. It asks for no environment variables, API keys, admin credentials, or config paths — access requests are proportionate to the stated purpose.
Persistence & Privilege
always is false and the skill does not request persistent system presence or modify other skills. Autonomous model invocation is allowed by default but is not a concerning combination here since no sensitive credentials are requested.
Assessment
This skill is internally consistent with its stated purpose: it needs only public store and product URLs and optional conversion numbers. Before using it, do not provide Shopify admin credentials, analytics dashboard access, or any secret tokens — they are not needed. Be aware the skill does not run automated performance tests; treat its speed/load suggestions as heuristic and validate high-impact recommendations with Lighthouse, WebPageTest, or real analytics. Also: the skill's source and owner are unknown and there is no homepage—if you plan to rely on its guidance for major changes, prefer to test fixes in a staging environment and cross-check recommendations against other audits or tooling. If you do not want the agent to call skills autonomously, consider disabling autonomous invocation in your agent settings.

Like a lobster shell, security has layers — review code before you run it.

Shopify Audit

Your Shopify store may look polished, but hidden conversion blockers could be costing you 20–40% of potential sales. This skill conducts a structured audit of your storefront—homepage, collection pages, product detail pages, and checkout—identifying friction points in copy, design, trust, and performance that prevent browsers from becoming buyers.

Use when

  • You've launched a Shopify store and traffic is coming in, but your add-to-cart rate is below 5% and you can't figure out why customers are bouncing without purchasing on any device.
  • You're preparing for a major sales event like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or a new product launch and want to eliminate checkout friction before driving significant paid traffic to the store.
  • Your existing store has a conversion rate under 2% and you want a systematic, page-by-page diagnosis of what's holding it back across copy, layout, trust signals, and page load speed.
  • You've recently redesigned your Shopify theme or updated your product lineup and want to verify that the updated pages still hit best practices for ecommerce conversion optimization.

What this skill does

This skill walks through each major layer of your Shopify storefront in sequence: homepage first impression, collection page browsability, product page persuasion, and checkout completion. For each layer it evaluates copy clarity, visual hierarchy, mobile experience, load-time signals, and trust indicator placement. It outputs a prioritized list of conversion blockers—sorted by estimated impact on revenue—with specific rewrites, layout suggestions, and checklist fixes your team can implement in Shopify's theme editor or app ecosystem without a developer in most cases.

Inputs required

  • Store URL (required): Your Shopify store URL or domain (e.g., mybrand.myshopify.com or www.mybrand.com) so the audit can reference your actual page structure, theme, and copy patterns.
  • Top product or collection page URL (required): The specific product detail page or collection URL you most want to optimize — this becomes the primary audit target for copy, image quality, social proof placement, and trust signal completeness.
  • Current conversion rate (optional): Your store's overall CVR or add-to-cart rate from Shopify Analytics or Google Analytics; knowing the baseline helps the skill prioritize where the biggest percentage-point gains are most likely hiding.
  • Known pain points (optional): Friction points you've already noticed — for example "customers abandon at shipping cost reveal" or "mobile checkout has high drop-off rate" — so the audit can allocate extra attention to those specific areas.

Output format

The output is structured in four sections. Section one is an Executive Summary scoring the store across five dimensions (copy, trust signals, page speed, UX/mobile, checkout flow) on a 1–10 scale with a one-sentence verdict for each. Section two is a Page-by-Page Breakdown covering homepage, collection, product detail page, and checkout — each with specific issues found, supporting rationale, and actionable fixes written for a non-developer. Section three is a Priority Fix List ranking the top five changes by estimated conversion impact from highest to lowest, including implementation time estimates. Section four is a Quick Win Checklist of changes completable in under 30 minutes without touching code.

Scope

  • Designed for: Shopify store owners, DTC brand operators, and ecommerce growth teams
  • Platform context: Shopify (compatible with all plans — Basic, Grow, Advanced — and any published theme)
  • Language: English

Limitations

  • This skill does not run automated Lighthouse or Core Web Vitals tests; load time assessments are based on the store description and URLs you provide, not a live automated crawl.
  • It does not access your Shopify Analytics or Google Analytics dashboard directly, so conversion rate benchmarking relies entirely on the figures you share in the inputs.
  • It cannot audit app-specific popups, post-purchase upsell overlays, or third-party integrations that require authenticated Shopify admin access to inspect.
