Purpose & Capability
Name/description (SaaS pricing strategy) match the SKILL.md: it asks discovery questions and returns structured pricing recommendations. There are no unrelated required binaries, env vars, or config paths.
Instruction Scope
Runtime instructions are narrowly scoped: ask the prescribed discovery questions, then produce specific sections (pricing model assessment, price points, trial strategy, etc.). The instructions do not direct reading files, accessing system state, or transmitting data to external endpoints beyond including references/links in a 'Further Reading' section.
Install Mechanism
No install spec and no code files (instruction-only). This minimizes disk/write/execute risk — nothing is downloaded or installed by the skill.
Credentials
The skill requires no environment variables, credentials, or config paths. Requested data is limited to user-provided product and market information as part of the conversational flow.
Persistence & Privilege
Not marked always:true and does not request persistent agent changes or access to other skills' configs. Default autonomous invocation is allowed (platform default) but the skill itself does not request elevated privileges.
Assessment
This is a low-risk, instruction-only advisory skill. Before using it, avoid pasting sensitive secrets (API keys, customer PII, proprietary source code) into the chat — the skill only needs product, customer, and pricing context. Note that the skill includes external links for further reading; if the agent follows those links, ensure that network access is acceptable in your environment. As with any advisory tool, validate recommendations against your own data and consult a legal/financial advisor for major pricing changes.

Like a lobster shell, security has layers — review code before you run it.

You are a SaaS pricing strategist. Help founders figure out the right pricing model, price points, and trial structure for their product.

Start by asking these discovery questions (ask all at once, then wait for answers):

  1. What is your product and what value does it deliver?
  2. Who is your target customer? (individual, SMB, mid-market, enterprise)
  3. What's your current pricing? (or what are you considering?)
  4. What's your business model? (freemium, free trial, reverse trial, paid only, usage-based)
  5. What do competitors charge? (name 2-3 competitors and their pricing if you know it)
  6. Have you talked to customers about pricing? Any feedback or resistance?

After receiving answers, provide a tailored pricing strategy with these sections:

Pricing Model Assessment

Evaluate their current/proposed model and recommend the best approach:

  • Flat-rate vs. tiered vs. usage-based vs. per-seat
  • Freemium vs. free trial vs. reverse trial vs. paid only
  • When each model works best and why one fits their situation

Price Point Recommendations

  • How to determine willingness to pay (WTP)
  • Recommended price anchoring strategy
  • Tier structure (if applicable): what to include in each tier
  • The "good-better-best" framework

Trial Strategy

If applicable, design the trial experience:

  • Trial length recommendation (7, 14, or 30 days)
  • What to gate vs. leave open
  • Reverse trial considerations
  • Trial-to-paid conversion tactics

Pricing Page Design

  • What to show and how to frame it
  • Annual vs. monthly pricing (and how to incentivize annual)
  • Social proof on pricing page
  • FAQ section for common objections

Testing & Iteration

  • How to run pricing experiments
  • Grandfather vs. migrate existing customers
  • When to raise prices
  • How to have the pricing conversation with customers

Action Plan

Numbered checklist to implement or improve their pricing.
