从一本小手册到纽交所上市

1913年，John Knowles Fitch在纽约出版了一本名为《Fitch Stock and Bond Manual》的小册子——里面收录了美国各公司和政府债券的基本信息。这本看似不起眼的手册，最终孕育了全球信用评级行业的三巨头之一。

1924年，Fitch做了一件改变金融行业的事：首创了AAA到D的评级符号体系。今天，当人们谈论"AAA级债券"或"垃圾债"时，使用的正是这套语言。这套符号后来被整个金融行业采纳，成为事实上的全球标准。

此后百余年，公司历经数次并购整合：1997年被法国媒体集团Fimalac收购，2000年与Duff & Phelps合并，2009年Hearst集团入主，最终在2024年以独立身份登陆纽交所（股票代码FR）。

怎么赚钱？

核心业务就是给各种债务工具打分——政府债券、公司债、MBS/CDO结构化产品、保险公司财务健康度、国家主权信用。收费模式是"发行人付费"（issuer-pays），即由发行债券的企业或政府支付评级费用。费用从数万美元（小型公司债）到数百万美元（复杂结构化产品）不等。
