Shopify Dev Mcp

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a coherent Shopify development helper, with expected Shopify API powers that should be used carefully on real stores.

Install only when you intend to use Shopify development tooling. Use least-privilege Shopify API credentials, prefer a development store, keep secrets in environment variables, and confirm store environment plus IDs before running mutation or webhook deletion commands.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding
This markdown file includes a `webhookDelete` example that performs a destructive operation, but the surrounding text does not warn that it deletes an existing webhook or recommend verifying the target ID first. Under the markdown variant of SQP-2, user-facing documentation should disclose behaviors that could affect system integrity or configuration.

Static analysis

No suspicious patterns detected.
