Verifying Phones

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a straightforward Sendly phone-verification reference, with expected external API calls for OTP workflows and no hidden execution or persistence.

Before installing, confirm you intend to use Sendly as the SMS verification provider, protect SENDLY_API_KEY, avoid logging OTPs or session tokens, and make sure your app has appropriate user consent and retention rules for phone numbers and verification data.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Missing User Warnings

Finding

The skill directs users to send phone numbers and verification/session tokens to a third-party verification provider but does not mention privacy, consent, retention, or secure handling of that user data. Because phone numbers and verification artifacts are sensitive authentication-related data, omission of data-handling guidance can lead to unintended exposure, compliance issues, or insecure downstream use.
