Session Sync

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill appears intended for memory continuity, but it asks agents to broadly persist and reuse cross-session conversation context without enough scoping, consent, or data-handling controls.

Install only in a clearly single-user, trusted workspace, and do not use it for conversations containing credentials, private personal data, confidential business material, or untrusted participant input unless memory entries are reviewed and redacted. Require explicit confirmation before promoting logs to long-term memory or running cleanup, and consider adding per-channel/user scoping plus collision-safe archival before regular use.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Insecure Skill Coding PracticesFinds exploitable flaws such as hardcoded secrets or command injection
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally

", limit=10) ``` ### 📤 Session 运行中(必做) **每当你做了以下事情,立即写入 memory 文件:** - 开始了一个新任务 - 做了一个重要决定 - 获得了新信息 - 完成了一个任务 - 切换话题 写入位置: - `memory/YYYY-MM-DD.md` — 当天日志(原始记录) - `memory/SESSION-STATE.md` — 当前活跃任务状态(覆盖更新) ``` ### Technical Analysis The Skill establishes a mandatory workflow that reads shared memory files and recent history from other active sessions. It also directs the agent to persist broadly defined “new information” and task state into shared files. No trust boundary, provenance validation, user or channel isolation, sensitive-data filtering, or instruction sanitization is defined. Consequently, content supplied through one session can be written to persistent memory and automatically loaded by a later session. If attacker-controlled content contains instructions presented as durable rules, task state, or trusted operational context, it can influence subsequent agent behavior through an indirect persistent prompt-injection path. The same mechanism creates a confidentiality risk when different channels or sessions do not represent the same authorized user. Conversation details, personal data, credentials, or other sensitive information can be copied into shared memory and exposed when another session reads it. ### Attack Path 1. An attacker or untrusted participant submits content through a session accessible to the agent. 2. The content includes instructions disguised as a task decision, new information, or session state, such as a request to treat a malicious rule as authoritative i ...[truncated 1368 chars]

Record collisions as errors rather than reporting the operation as a successful archive. 5. Consider comparing hashes before deciding whether an identical destination can safely be skipped. 6. Restrict write permissions on `memory/` and `memory/archive/` to the intended workspace owner. ]]>

Finding

The declared description says this skill provides cross-session memory synchronization across communication channels. However, the supplied code only performs local file housekeeping: it finds markdown files named by date, computes their age, and moves those older than 7 days into an archive directory. There is no synchronization protocol, no consistency logic across sessions, and no interaction with Feishu, webchat, or any external channel. This is a materially different primary purpose, so it should be flagged as a mismatch.

Finding

The skill directs the agent to persist broad conversation-derived information and reuse it across sessions and channels, including task state, decisions, and newly learned information. In a multi-channel environment, this can leak sensitive user data, confidential context, or channel-specific information into other sessions without consent or proper minimization.

Finding

The instruction to promote selected daily logs into long-term memory encourages indefinite retention of conversational content. Over time, this can accumulate sensitive personal, business, or security-relevant information and make later cross-session disclosure or misuse more damaging.

Missing User Warnings

Confidence

Finding

The skill describes automatic archival of files older than 7 days and running a cleanup script, but does not require an explicit warning or approval before moving log files. Silent file-moving behavior can cause loss of expected access, operational confusion, or unintended handling of sensitive records.

Context-Inappropriate Capability

Finding

The skill instructs the agent to execute an external shell script during routine operation, creating a command-execution trust boundary that is broader than the stated memory-sync purpose. If the referenced script is modified, malicious, or unsafe, the agent could perform unintended filesystem actions such as moving or deleting files without adequate review.

Vague Triggers

Finding

The quick-command triggers are short, generic natural-language phrases such as '同步记忆' and '清理日志' that may appear in ordinary conversation. This increases the risk of accidental invocation of state-changing actions, including persistence updates and file cleanup, without clear user intent or confirmation.

Finding

The manifest frames the skill as ensuring cross-session memory consistency across channels. The documented automatic cleanup/archive workflow adds lifecycle management of stored logs, which goes beyond synchronization semantics and changes retained data layout over time.
