GitHub Monitor

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a straightforward GitHub repository monitor with disclosed recurring checks and state tracking, plus a minor language-output caveat.

Before installing, confirm the repository list, notification target, schedule, timezone, and state-file path are the ones you want. Expect it to create a recurring OpenClaw cron workflow and store monitoring cursors so it does not resend old events. If you prefer another language, adjust the output instructions because the artifact currently defaults to Chinese headings and trigger phrases.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding

The output section mandates a fixed response structure entirely in Chinese, including required trigger phrases like “看详情/展开/给清单”. This imposes a specific language on users without any documented opt-in or alternative, which is a natural-language policy violation under the language/locale rule.
