KubeVirt VM Management

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill fits VM management, but its creation examples use a shared password and an unsupported operating system without instructions to secure or isolate them.

Review the creation examples before use: replace the shared password with unique credentials or SSH keys, select a supported guest image, and limit cluster permissions to intended resources. Confirm the target cluster, namespace, VM, and acceptable downtime before lifecycle changes; clean up unneeded VMs and disks.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Output HandlingUnvalidated Output Injection, Cross-Context Output, Unbounded Output
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
Findings (1)

The stop and restart instructions omit warnings about interrupting running workloads.

Finding

The lifecycle instructions directly demonstrate stopping and restarting a VM without warning that these actions interrupt guest applications and can affect active user sessions or in-progress work. Checking VM status, as required elsewhere in the skill, does not disclose these consequences.
