Port Check

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a straightforward port-checking helper that only runs local TCP/HTTP checks against user-supplied host and port targets.

Install only if you are comfortable letting the agent make TCP and HTTP connection attempts to targets you specify. Prefer explicit host:port inputs, avoid scanning networks you do not own or administer, and treat invalid or unusual host, port, or timeout values as unsupported.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding

The skill advertises shell-based functionality and explicitly requires external binaries (nc, curl), but it does not declare any explicit tool scope such as permissions or allowed-tools. That creates an authorization gap where an agent may invoke shell capabilities more broadly than intended, increasing the risk of unintended command execution or misuse in environments that rely on manifest-declared restrictions.
