Sub Churn

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a Markdown-only subscription churn playbook with no code execution, persistence, credentials, or hidden data access.

Installers should treat this as a business playbook skill, not an automation connector. Avoid sharing raw customer billing exports unless needed, anonymize sensitive churn data where possible, and use counsel for regulated subscription-law questions as the skill itself advises.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding

The manifest description contains broad trigger phrases such as 'subscriptions are leaking' and 'people say it's too pricey,' which can cause the agent to invoke this skill from vague business chatter rather than a clear subscription-retention intent. Over-broad activation increases the chance of context-inappropriate handling, unnecessary collection of billing/retention data, and generation of scripted customer communications when the user may have intended only general discussion or unrelated analysis.
