Security audit

City of Ottawa Open Data

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a mostly coherent Ottawa open-data helper, but its fetch command can follow dataset-controlled service URLs outside the stated Ottawa/ArcGIS scope.

Review before installing. The skill is not malicious, but run it only in an environment where outbound requests to unintended internal services are not sensitive, and treat any CSV exports as untrusted public data before opening them in spreadsheet software.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Insecure Skill Coding PracticesFinds exploitable flaws such as hardcoded secrets or command injection
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
