Forsy Trace Skill

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a local trace-writing helper whose data capture is broad but clearly tied to its stated tracing purpose and includes redaction guidance.

Install only if you want agents to create durable local records of their work. Before sharing any generated trace, review trace.json and artifacts for private prompts, credentials, customer data, internal URLs, or proprietary content, and redact or exclude anything sensitive.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

The skill explicitly instructs the agent to save a local trace.json and related artifacts that may contain user messages, tool outputs, system prompts, memory, logs, and other workflow data. Although the document later mentions masking secrets, the persistence step lacks a strong pre-save safety gate, default redaction requirement, or warning that traces can capture sensitive local or remote data, increasing the risk of accidental data retention or disclosure.
