Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed Xiaohongshu data-analysis helper that uses a provider API and does not include code, persistence, or hidden local access.

Before installing, understand that analysis requests may be sent to the skill provider's Xiaohongshu data API using your XHS_API_KEY. Avoid submitting confidential campaign plans, private account data, or sensitive competitor research unless you trust the provider's handling of that data.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
90% confidence
Finding

The README states that the skill will 'automatically retrieve relevant data' and requires an external XHS_API_KEY, but it does not disclose that user prompts or query parameters may be sent to a third-party service. This can mislead users about where their data goes and creates privacy, consent, and credential-handling risks, especially if users include sensitive business or competitive information in their requests.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
92% confidence
Finding

The trigger list is very broad and includes many common Xiaohongshu-related terms, so the skill may activate for general requests that should be handled by other skills or by the base assistant. This can cause incorrect routing, unexpected behavior, and make it easier for users to be funneled into analysis workflows they did not explicitly request.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
96% confidence
Finding

The file explicitly states '中文输出', which forces a specific output language. Under the stated policy, this is a locale/language constraint that should either be optional for the user or clearly justified as region-specific; neither condition is present here.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
89% confidence
Finding

The entire reference file is written exclusively in Chinese and presents the skill content as a fixed language experience, with no indication that other languages are supported or that the user can opt in to Chinese. Under the stated policy, forcing a specific language without user choice is a natural-language locale violation unless clearly justified.

Vague Triggers

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
85% confidence
Finding

The activation conditions are descriptive but do not clearly define decision boundaries for when this skill should activate versus when another skill should handle the request. That ambiguity increases the chance of accidental invocation, overlapping execution, or inconsistent behavior across similar user prompts.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
91% confidence
Finding

The title and entire API reference are presented in Chinese, and the file does not indicate that the user can choose another language or that the skill is intentionally restricted to a Chinese-speaking or region-specific audience. This can violate language/locale policy when a skill implicitly forces one language without user opt-in.
