vibecheck

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a coherent development helper for the Vibecheck repository, with scoped build/test instructions and no evidence of hidden or destructive behavior.

Before installing, be aware that this skill may guide an agent to run Docker and Make commands and to use a Vibecheck Docker image. For production or repeatable use, prefer a pinned release tag or digest instead of latest, and keep real TypeSafe credentials in gitignored local environment files.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

The example command uses docker run ... psyb0t/vibecheck:latest, which relies on a mutable tag rather than an immutable version or digest. In a repeatable setup this can cause users to pull different code over time, and if the upstream image or publishing pipeline is compromised, consumers may unintentionally run a malicious or unreviewed image.
