go-render-api

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a straightforward guide for using a Go client with Render's API, with the main risks disclosed and tied to the user's requested Render operations.

Before installing, confirm you are comfortable adding an unofficial Go dependency and giving code access to a Render API key. Use it only with the intended Render account and service IDs, and treat deploy, suspend, scale, update, and delete calls as production-impacting operations.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

## Security & safety

- Read the API key from an environment variable such as `RENDER_API_KEY`. Never hardcode it, commit it or log it, and never print request headers.
- Requests go only to the base URL you pass, `https://api.render.com/v1`.
- Deploy, suspend, scale, update and delete endpoints change live infrastructure. Call them only on services the user named and only when the user asked for that action.

Finding

This markdown file describes operations that can create deploys, suspend services, and delete services, but it does not include any cautionary note about service disruption or irreversible deletion. For markdown files, SQP-2 applies when the skill description omits warnings about behaviors that could affect user data, privacy, or system integrity.
