go-postgrid

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed Go API-client helper for PostGrid, with clear warnings about API keys, live mail, charges, and user-requested actions.

Use this skill only for Go projects that intentionally integrate PostGrid. Keep `POSTGRID_API_KEY` out of source control and logs, prefer a test key while developing, and be explicit before allowing code to create live mail, targeted lists, bulk verification jobs, cancellations, deletions, or other billable operations.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding

Skill enables autonomous high-impact decisions without human-in-the-loop verification. Critical operations (destructive commands, financial transactions, data deletion) should require explicit user confirmation.

- Set `X-API-Key` through `WithRequestEditorFn`. Read the key from `POSTGRID_API_KEY`; never hardcode, commit or log it.
- Use `https://api.postgrid.com`. The spec has separate print and mail and address verification security schemes. Select the key for the API being called.
- Print and mail test or live behavior depends on the key. Use a test key while developing. Creating mail with a live key can send physical mail and incur charges.
- Create, send, cancel or delete resources only when the user requested that action. Do not retry mail creation after an uncertain response without checking whether the first request succeeded.
