go-julep

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a disclosed Julep API helper for Go projects; it uses an API key and sends user-directed requests to Julep, with no hidden execution or persistence found.

Install only if you intend to use Julep from Go code. Treat JULEP_API_KEY as a secret, and review any generated code before running delete, update, secret, file, execution, or billing-impacting calls because those can change your Julep account.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Data Exfiltration
Confidence
50% confidence
Finding

Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

Content

Scanner excerpt · SKILL.md (reported line 17)May include surrounding context.

md
permissions:
filesystem: "Guides edits to the Go source of the current project. The library reads and writes no files."
shell: "The Go toolchain (`go get`, `go build`, `go test`) to add and compile the dependency."
network: "`go get` fetches the module from your Go module proxy. At runtime the client sends HTTPS requests only to the base URL you pass, normally https://api.julep.ai/api."

Missing User Warnings

Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
84% confidence
Finding

This markdown file documents authentication via an API key in the Authorization header, which is a sensitive credential flow. The text explains how to send the key but does not include any warning about protecting the key, avoiding commits/logging, or treating it as secret material.
