go-contextual-ai

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed Go client helper for the Contextual AI API, with expected network use and no hidden execution or persistence found.

Install this only for Go projects that should call Contextual AI. Review code paths that delete, reset, remove users, ingest documents, or upload parse inputs, because those are legitimate but account-changing API operations that should stay user-directed.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Data Exfiltration

Finding

Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

permissions:
filesystem: "Guides edits to the Go source of the current project. The library reads and writes no files."
shell: "The Go toolchain (`go get`, `go build`, `go test`) to add and compile the dependency."
network: "`go get` fetches the module from your Go module proxy. At runtime the client sends HTTPS requests only to the base URL you pass, normally https://api.contextual.ai/v1."
