Security audit

go-calcom

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a narrowly scoped Go helper for using an unofficial Cal.com API client, with its network and credential use disclosed and aligned to scheduling tasks.

Install only if you intend to use an unofficial Go client for Cal.com. Treat `CALCOM_API_KEY` as sensitive, review any code that creates, reschedules, cancels, or edits bookings and scheduling resources, and confirm the configured Cal.com host before sending account data.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Credential Access

High
Category
Privilege Escalation
Confidence
70% confidence
Finding

Code accesses credential files (SSH keys, AWS credentials, etc.). This could indicate credential theft attempts.

## Requirements

- Go 1.26.9 or newer, per `go.mod`.
- A Cal.com API key or supported access token, exported as `CALCOM_API_KEY`. Endpoint access depends on the account plan and permissions.

## Install

External Transmission

Medium
Category
Data Exfiltration
Confidence
50% confidence
Finding

Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

md
## Base URL

The spec declares no server URL. Pass `https://api.cal.com` to `calcom.NewClientWithResponses`. The [profile docs](https://cal.com/docs/api-reference/v2/me/get-my-profile) show `https://api.cal.com/v2/me`. Generated paths already contain `/v2`, so use the host without that suffix. Pass another host for a configured deployment or local test server.

## Auth and API versions

Autonomous Decision Making

Medium
Category
Excessive Agency
Confidence
75% confidence
Finding

Skill enables autonomous high-impact decisions without human-in-the-loop verification. Critical operations (destructive commands, financial transactions, data deletion) should require explicit user confirmation.

## Rate limits

Handle HTTP 429 with bounded backoff. The generated client does not automatically retry or pace requests. Avoid retrying booking mutations without checking their result and the endpoint's idempotency behavior.

Missing User Warnings

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
81% confidence
Finding

This markdown file instructs users to export CALCOM_API_KEY, which is a sensitive credential, but provides no caution about protecting the key, avoiding committing it to source control, or using secure secret storage. For documentation that directs users to handle credentials, a brief warning helps reduce accidental exposure.
