The documented commands invoke
npxwithout pinning theskillsnpm package to a reviewed version. Depending on the local npm configuration and cache state, npxmay retrieve and execute the current package version from a configured registry. The referenced
nexscope-ai/Amazon-Skillsrepository and individual skills are also not pinned to immutable commit hashes or verified releases. Consequently, the code and instructions installed by these commands can change after this artifact has been reviewed. The-gflag installs the selected skills globally, increasing their availability and the duration of exposure beyond a single isolated project. This is a supply-chain weakness rather than evidence that the currently referenced dependencies are malicious. The risk arises because upstream registry packages, publisher accounts, repositories, or branches could be compromised or changed without corresponding changes to this audited file.
Attack Path
- An attacker compromises the npm package used by

Remediation Suggestions
- Pin the
skillsnpm package to an explicitly reviewed version rather than invoking an unversioned package throughnpx. - Pin the source repository to a verified immutable commit hash or signed release tag.
- Record and verify integrity hashes for downloaded packages and skill artifacts where tooling supports this.
- Remove
-gfrom the default installation instructions and prefer project-local or otherwise isolated installation. - Require users to inspect the resolved package and skill contents before activation.
- Use a lockfile, trusted registry, and restrictive npm configuration where applicable.
- Run installation in a sandbox or container with minimal filesystem, credential, and network access.
- Document the exact reviewed package version, repository commit, expected publisher identity, and integrity metadata.
- Add automated dependency monitoring and require renewed review whenever the pinned package or commit is updated.
