Openclaw Cost Tracker

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill’s cost-reporting purpose is clear, but its default workflow tells agents to run an external, unpinned local CLI that is not included in the reviewed artifact.

Install only if you trust the separate openclaw-cost-diff executable already present on the machine. Prefer running the bundled scripts/cost_tracker.py fallback or verify the external CLI’s source, version, ownership, permissions, and checksum first, and run it as a non-root user with read-only access limited to the needed OpenClaw session data.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Insecure DependenciesIntroduces malicious components through unsafe dependency sources
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
