Security audit

Walletap

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill is coherent for Walletap automation, but its setup instructions include unverified remote script execution for installing the CLI.

Review the CLI installation path before installing. Prefer an official package manager, signed release, or manually inspected installer instead of executing the curl/PowerShell one-liners. Also confirm all write, notification, or update payloads before allowing the agent to run them against your Walletap account.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access

Finding

The skill instructs users to install software via a remote shell pipeline (curl ... | bash), which executes network-fetched code without prior verification. If the install endpoint, transport, DNS, or hosting is compromised, an attacker could achieve arbitrary code execution on the user's machine.

Finding

The description says to use this skill for "ANY Walletap request" and "Whenever a task involves Walletap," which is a very broad activation condition. It does not define narrower trigger phrases, exclusions, or examples of when Walletap-related tasks should not invoke the skill, increasing the risk of unintended activation.
