Viral Loops

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill is service-scoped and mostly read-oriented, but its first-time setup tells the agent to install a CLI by running an unpinned remote script directly in the shell.

Review before installing. The Viral Loops connector behavior is coherent, but the CLI setup path should be treated carefully: prefer installing oo from verified OOMOL documentation, pinned releases, or an administrator-managed process instead of letting an agent run remote installer scripts directly.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access

External Script Fetching

Supply Chain
Confidence
98% confidence
Finding

The skill instructs the agent to install software via a remote script piped directly into bash, which is a classic supply-chain and remote code execution risk. If the install endpoint, transport, DNS, or upstream distribution is compromised, arbitrary code would execute immediately on the host with the agent's privileges.

Vague Triggers

Finding

The trigger condition is overly broad: it directs the agent to use this skill for ANY Viral Loops request and instead of calling the API directly. That can cause over-selection of this skill in contexts where a safer, narrower, or more appropriate path should be chosen, increasing the chance the agent follows embedded operational instructions like shell execution unnecessarily.
