Security audit

Tick

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill is coherent for managing Tick through OOMOL, but its setup instructions include unverified remote script execution and it can perform account-changing Tick actions.

Before installing, review OOMOL's CLI installation method yourself and prefer a verified installer or documented manual install path. Use the skill only when you are comfortable letting OOMOL mediate Tick access, and require explicit confirmation before creating, updating, or deleting Tick entries.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access

External Script Fetching

Supply Chain
Confidence

Finding

The skill includes a one-line installer that fetches a remote script and pipes it directly into a shell (curl ... | bash). This bypasses integrity verification and gives immediate code-execution to whatever is served from that URL or any compromised intermediary, which is especially risky in an agent-executed skill context.

Vague Triggers

Finding

The trigger text is extremely broad: it directs use of the skill for "ANY Tick request" and for reading, creating, updating, and deleting data. That can cause the agent to invoke this skill for all Tick-related tasks, including sensitive or destructive ones, increasing the chance of unintended writes or deletes if the surrounding workflow does not enforce strong confirmation.
