Security audit

SeaTable

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This SeaTable skill is coherent overall, but it includes first-time setup commands that execute remote installer scripts without verification.

Review the oo CLI installation method before installing. Prefer a verified package manager or an installer with checksum/signature validation, and confirm exact SeaTable write or delete payloads before allowing the skill to run them.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access

External Script Fetching

Finding

The skill instructs users to install software via curl ... | bash, which downloads and immediately executes a remote script without verification. If the distribution endpoint, transport path, or hosted script is compromised, this can lead to arbitrary code execution on the user's machine; the danger is increased here because the command is embedded as a fallback operational step in a trusted integration skill.

Finding

The description says to use this skill for "ANY SeaTable request" and "Whenever a task involves SeaTable," which is a very broad activation condition. It does not provide concrete trigger boundaries or negative examples, so ordinary mentions of SeaTable could unintentionally invoke the skill.
