Security audit

Planly

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill is mostly coherent for managing Planly through OOMOL, but its setup guidance tells users or agents to execute remote installer scripts directly in a shell.

Install the OOMOL CLI only from trusted, documented sources after inspecting or verifying the installer. Review exact Planly write or delete payloads before approval, especially scheduled posts and media deletion actions.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs

Finding

The skill instructs the agent/user to install software by piping a remotely fetched script directly into a shell (curl ... | bash). This bypasses integrity verification, prevents meaningful inspection before execution, and creates a high-risk remote code execution path if the hosting domain, transport, or distribution pipeline is compromised. In this skill context, the danger is elevated because the installation command is embedded as operational guidance for resolving missing prerequisites, making it likely to be suggested or run during task execution.
