Security audit

Mailchimp

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This Mailchimp skill is coherent and disclosed, but users should be cautious with its one-time CLI installer and destructive Mailchimp actions.

Install only if you trust OOMOL and are comfortable connecting it to Mailchimp. Review destructive actions carefully, and require exact confirmation before archiving or permanently deleting members. For first-time setup, prefer the official install guide or a verified installer over directly piping remote scripts into a shell.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access

External Script Fetching

Category
Supply Chain
Confidence
98% confidence
Finding

The skill instructs users to install software via curl ... | bash, which executes a remotely fetched script without verification. If the install endpoint, transport, CDN, or upstream distribution is compromised, arbitrary code could run on the user's machine with the user's privileges.

Confidence

Finding

The description says to use this skill for "ANY Mailchimp request" and "Whenever a task involves Mailchimp, use this skill," which is an extremely broad trigger. It does not define boundaries, exclusions, or negative examples, so ordinary references to Mailchimp could be interpreted as activation conditions.
